CCF Welcomes Our New Executive Director

Jan 16, 2019 | 0 comments

We are proud to announce that Bill D’Andrea has been named the executive director of the Clemson Community Foundation! “Billy D,” as he is widely known in the community, worked in the Clemson University Athletic Department for nearly thirty years, rising to the position of executive senior associate athletic director for external affairs. From 2015 to 2018, he served as Anderson University’s vice president for athletics.

In his new role, D’Andrea will manage our day-to-day operations. “I’m excited by this new challenge and grateful for the opportunity to give back to the greater Clemson community,” D’Andrea said. “So many of us love this area and feel fortunate to live here. I want to make sure that our Foundation is working to improve the quality of life for all of our area’s residents.”

D’Andrea was selected as our first executive director following an extensive search process chaired by Dr. Debbie Jackson, one of our board members. “We were looking for someone with fund-raising experience and strong connections to our community,” Dr. Jackson said. “We found an ideal candidate in Billy D.”

“I’m looking forward to building on the good work the Foundation has already done and helping raise more money to support our local charities,” D’Andrea said, who works from our office in Clemson’s City Hall.

About CCF

The Clemson Community Foundation was launched in 2013 as a project of Leadership Clemson, and was inspired by a combination of the success of community foundations in other cities and the unmet funding needs in the Clemson area. As a community foundation, we work to provide philanthropy and establish long-term sources of funds for local needs, such as charitable nonprofit organizations in the Clemson area.
