Feed A Hungry Child works with schools throughout Pickens County to provide food to students on Fridays during the school year to curb the hungry that they would otherwise have on the weekends.
Feeding school age children K4-12th grades on the weekends who might otherwise go hungry.
Kathy Brazinski -President
Kathy has been a member of the Board of Directors for Feed A Hungry Child since it’s founding in 2010. She’s been in education for 32 years as a classroom teacher, teacher of “gifted and talented” students, assistant principal, coordinator of the district level and building principal, and principal at A.R. Lewis Elementary.
In addition to her work in education, Kathy is active in her church, is a member and past President of Pickens Rotary Club and Prevent Child Abuse, Pickens County, and is co-founder of Feed A Hungry Child, Pickens County.
Kathy has received the Pickens County Career Woman of the Year twice, and was runner-up for State Career Woman of the Year 2010. Other awards she’s been honored to be chosen for include the Advocate for Children Award 2009-2010, and Administrator of the Year in 2009.
Kathy graduated with and AA degree in Pre-law. She also has a degree in Elementary and Secondary Education, and an EDS degree in Educational Administration.
Our mission is to provide balanced nutritional meals for children in Pickens County schools on the weekends.
