Rebuild Upstate -Philanthropy

Serving the Clemson Area Since 2007  EIN: 20-8296408

Rebuild Upstate engages with community partners to provide funding and volunteer support for home repair. The idea is simple: if you protect the home, you protect the homeowner inside it. The best home for a homeowner at-risk in the affordable housing crisis is the home they already own.

Home repair is a cost-effective solution that serves individuals who have established equity in their homes and social capital in their neighborhoods. The average affordable home in our community costs $140,000 or more to build. Even when using volunteers, the cost is at least $100,000 per home. For the same investment, Rebuild Upstate can repair and rehabilitate 25 existing homes. This keeps families in their homes and is an efficient investment.

Repairs offered include, but are not limited to, accessibility modifications, mold removal, floor replacement, roof repair, plumbing, installing a standing shower, or repairing rot in the foundation. A volunteer Build Day team of 8-12 people will partner with a homeowner to repair part of their home. Rebuild Upstate provides a skilled site leader to guide your team through the Build Day. All tools and materials are provided. No constriction skills are required to volunteer.
